So, after hearing a mash-up of Biggie’s “Party and Bullshit” and Miley Cyrus’ “Party in the U.S.A.,” I was interested in hearing what the true version of Miley’s song sounded like. To my surprise, I liked it. One part particularly stood out in the first verse.

In the song, Miley’s in a cab and feels great after a Jay-Z song comes on the radio. I wasn’t caught off guard by the idea of the teen being excited about a Jay-Z song, but the fact that she would shout him out in a song is pretty dope. The question on my mind was, which song was it?

Maybe “Run This Town” got her amped before a night on the town? Did “Give It To Me” make her do the Dame Dash dice-dance in the back of that cab or was she feeling lovey-dovey after hearing “‘03 Bonnie & Clyde?”

Apparently it was neither of these. Actually, Miley has revealed that she’s never heard a Jay-Z song, and doesn’t even like pop music. She also revealed that the song was written for her. You would think this is a bad thing but not living her lyrics brings her closer to the world of hip-hop. Ha!

I find it hard to believe that she doesn’t know Jay-Z’s music. I find it crazy that she doesn’t like pop music when she’s probably considered the token of a young teenie-bopping pop act. Maybe she’s trying to say that she makes music from the soul -just not her soul.

Miley is pretty wack. How do you jump from admitting you don’t know Jay-Z’s music to not liking pop. It makes it sound like she thinks rap and pop are the same thing.
