I don’t know about you but I stopped caring about a “Detox” album since 2008.
Def Jam Vendetta : Shyne vs 50 Cent
Apr 19th
Yeah, Shyne’s out of jail, signed to Def Jam for way more than he’s worth, and took shots at 50. That pretty much sums it but the end of this video shows what will happen if this “fued” goes any further.
[Video] ‘Kat Stacks: Last Comic Kneeling’
Apr 5th
The fellas at It’s The Real put this together using the foolish words of Kat Stacks herself. It does sound like terrible comedy but people actually put themselves out there like that.

How true this is. Ten years ago, the person running a website wore a pocket protector, high-watered pants on and was still waiting for his first sexual encounter. That was then. Fast-forward to 2010. That guy running the site is solicited by media outlets, record companies, and up-and-comers to get a mention on his site because they know that a cosign from him is an accomplishment.
That’s the reality of those involved in social media –bloggers, tweeters, facebookers, etc. I consider myself as a part of this realm so, from experience, I can say that the game has changed and continues to do so. I certainly don’t have a pocket protector, my pants fit me quite well and I’ve had an encounter or two with the opposite sex. We are not losers. We are lasers.
Today a blogger is a taste-maker. This is an important role because it creates trends. The music you listen to right now most likely got its first play on a blog. Blogging is like setting up a table with what your blog has to offer on a busy street. People stop and toil with what they’re interested and move on. If they like what you have to offer they’ll come back again.
Other bloggers might come get stuff off your table and bring it to theirs. They’ll let everyone know that they got it from your table, which generates more interest in your table. A nerd probably couldn’t do this. Cool people are interesting. That’s what makes them cool. It’s only right that a blogger be a cool person rather than a number-crunching nerd.
Twitter is similar but on a smaller scale. It’s more like walking down the street talking to yourself aloud. People follow you to hear what you say. If they find it interesting, the continue to follow, like those people followed Forrest Gump as he ran across America. If you have nothing interesting to say, they stop following or pay no mind to the crap coming out of your mouth.
Think of your favorite blog. I’m sure it’s On221.com, but if it’s not would you want to hang out with the person that runs your favorite blog? That is how I rate my social media and blog consumption. Every last one of my favorite blogs are run by people with whom I wouldn’t mind hitting a bar with. Chances are if they blog about things you like they live a lifestyle that you can associate with.
You’re only as cool as the blogs you frequent. So, next time you check NecoleBitchie.com or MarcusTroy’s blog, ask yourself do I like the blog or do I really like Necole?
Any thoughts?
