[Video] How Lil Wayne will spend his days in prison

So, he’s going to be in the lofty side of Riker’s but I bet he’ll come out saying he’s had it “rough in the pen.” He’s doing a Martha Stewart bid. He’ll be fine.

The Death of Derrion Albert

It’s hard for me not to comment on the Derrion Albert situation. He was a 16-year-old honors student at Fenger High School in Chicago. A fight broke out between “rival gangs” and Albert tried to help someone who was pulled into the mix. As the melee went on, Albert was hit in the head with a board, and knocked to the ground.

While unconscious, the suspects punched and kicked him, even while he wasn’t moving. Once the situation calmed down, student and nearby workers helped Albert, but it was already too late. Derrion Albert was killed for trying to help out another student pulled into a senseless situation.

Those are the facts. What happened here is tragic. My sympathy and condolences go out to the entire Albert family. A good kid child was lost for trying to do the right thing. Here are my two cents… Read the rest of this entry »

World Star Flip Flop… Whoa!

[Youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tg9S6MtWV5o]

Here’s a nice little video that’s been floating around the net for a few day that exposes World Star Hip Hop’s possible fabrication of video views.

This is definitely a two-sided story. World Star’s traffic must be like rush hour in Los Angeles because their Alexa rating is in the 1,000s. This means that they definitely have a large audience.

That may be true but refreshing a page to create a new view is definitely grimey. It’s pretty unethical, too, maybe even illegal. A page view and a video view are totally different.

That’s why you no longer see their videos up here. I used to have their videos up here web they first started out, because their rip game is proper most of the time, but I don’t support that kind of fuckery.

[Video] Brisco Gets Robbed in FLA Barber Shop

The video says it all. This sucks. What sucks more is the cop’s speech at the press conference. “Took a little more off the top than expected,” “This robbery was off the chain,” “[If you take a rapper's bling] It’s like taking his heart?” Seriously, officer?

[Audio] Henry Louis Gates 911 Call

This is the initial call that started the entire “Louigate” fiasco. I haven’t commented on this much in open forum but I talk about it all the time with the older African-Americans at the job. His situation, in a nutshell, is that Henry Gates, affluent African-American Harvard professor, was profiled as a burglar in his own home, questioned by police, then arrested.

This call makes the racial dynamics of the situation more clear. Listen to how this woman speaks. The part that blows me is how she says, “I’m not sure if these two individuals actually work there, I mean, live there.” They’re dark so they must not live in this nice area. They’ve gotta work there. Two black “dark” men having trouble getting into their home are criminals?

They obviously had a key. They had some trouble getting in — maybe because they were lugging suitcases around? — so they used their shoulders to push the door. Suddenly they’re criminals? I don’t know many doors that can be opened with the feeble shoulder of a middle-aged man.

The 911-call was just the tip of the iceberg. When polive arrived, they knocked on the door to question Gates. He was already chilling in his home. He showed identification and cooperated. The police say that he was beligerant and insulted them.

If you came and disturbed me while I was in my home and accused me of stealing my house, I’d be a little more than beligerant. One of the officers said that Gates said insulting things about his mother. Really?! You’re getting mad over a ‘your mama’ snap? Is this 1994? Do you attend P.S. 34 Elementary school? Is this recess? You’re seriously going to take this man to jail because he may, or may not, have insulted your mother on his own property?

That’s bullshit in my opinion. This call further stregthens the fear of dark people — dark meaning black and Hispanic– in this country. Obama being our president didn’t change anything. He actually said that the officers handled the situation “stupidly” and I couldn’t agree more.
